Explore 29 New Game Cards from Magic: The Gathering's TMNT Set (Including a Commander-Style Deck!)

Everyone's favorite pizza-eating heroes are making their way to Magic: The Gathering. The popular TCG's company, Wizards of the Coast, unveiled a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration at a special panel hosted at NYCC. Is this a exciting new set or simply another Universes Beyond cash grab? We'll let you decide.

Check out below at all the details revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, including some useful context. All items listed here releases on March 6, 2026, with one exception — a special Pizza Bundle drops a couple of weeks after on March 27.

Magic x TMNT: Main Set Cards

Before diving into all the various special decks and bundles on offer, let’s take a look at all the cards from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion unveiled by the developers. Play boosters for the expansion are priced at $6.99 each, while premium boosters are priced at $37.99 per pack.

Let's unpack a couple of shell-shocking features. First, a new gameplay mechanic called Sneak Attack, which is a riff on the already established Ninjutsu, in which gamers can cheat big creatures onto the game field whenever an attacking creature goes unblocked. The big difference in this case is that this new ability can apply to non-creature spells too. The designers also used this chance to clean up the ability a bit (Sneak counts as casting, unlike the older mechanic). Ninjutsu isn't going away, but it's more likely players will encounter Sneak in upcoming expansions from now on.

Should we were to return to the Kamigawa plane, it’s possible we’d use the original ability because that's where it originated and it is iconic of that world,” a senior game designer explained. “However in other settings, since the rules are cleaner and the new ability will be in standard, it’s probable we’ll use the updated version.”

That second variant of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai, is one of four special cards with unique artwork created specifically for the expansion by TMNT co-creator the co-creator.

Oh, and, should you be surprised by the card text on Turtles Forever, which lets you play cards that aren't in your main deck, so was I. Yet according to Wizards, it’s now a legal card in every format of Magic.

Anyway, here are the highly unusual land cards with full art from this set:

Following Wizards of the Coast's current policy, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. Developers state they were careful to make sure the cards and gameplay elements meshed well with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.

“I led the development for over a year and we were aware it was going to be in standard and which sets would be alongside it in Standard,” a lead designer says. “Our goal was to make sure that they work well with certain expansions like Edge of Eternities.”

As an instance, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a Izzet archetype built around artifacts.

“They combine to provide the components for a enjoyable Standard-legal deck,” he added.

Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power!

After declining to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for the Spider-Man set and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, Wizards is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just a single precon, but it does come with six distinct legendary creatures who could work as your Commander depending on how you combine them (five cards have a special Partner mechanic named “Character Select” that lets you start with two of them in the command area rather than only one). Take a look below:

This Commander deck is set at $69.99, although the price may rise based on demand. Wizards indicated that it contains 43 new cards in total, which translates to an additional thirty-seven Turtle-themed game cards in addition to the six legendary commanders shown earlier. (Doing some rough math, this suggests approximately 20 reprints if we assume the precon comes with 37 land cards.)

What will the TMNT edition of the iconic Sol Ring appear? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Standard Bundle (Regular)

Typically, the company is selling a bundle. It is priced at $69.99 and includes the listed items:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • Fifteen Foil basic lands
  • Fifteen Non-foil land cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • 1 Traditional foil promo card
  • 1 Oversized spindown life counter
  • 1 storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

This is a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, primarily because it comes in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Each pizza-themed bundle costs $99.99 and comes with the items below:

  • 9 Play Boosters
  • One Collector Booster
  • Twenty-five Regular pizza-themed lands
  • Five Foil pizza-themed lands
  • Two Foil Pizza Bundle promotional cards
  • Two Reference cards
  • 1 Oversized life tracker
  • 1 Card-storage box

If you’re wondering what a “pizza bundle promo” means, it’s basically a reprinted older card featuring all-new Turtle-themed artwork. The team showed an example for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual depicting master Splinter sprinkling black licorice pieces on a pizza. In total, there are six different pizza promos in total.

The Pizza Bundle launches a couple of weeks later than the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This special bundle is made for a four-person draft and costs $119.99. That will get you:

  • Twelve Standard Boosters (the perfect amount four people to play draft)
  • One Collector Booster (also known as, the prize for coming in first)
  • 90 Non-foil land cards (to build your deck)
  • 10 Non-foil double-sided tokens
  • 1 Draft insert (a single-page instruction sheet to drafting the set)

Turtle Team-Up

Finally, the developers are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its continued initiative to develop Magic game products aimed at beginners. Here, the cooperative set is a special set of prebuilt decks that let you and a friend join forces against a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.

The concept is that every Boss card grants special abilities to the creatures contained in the boss deck. The Boss automatically plays one other card per turn, and players begin battling {one Boss|
